Never 10

At this point, if you don’t have Windows 10, you have almost certainly decided you don’t want it. Personal preference, nothing wrong with that.

Yet you are likely still receiving messages from Microsoft that encourage you to upgrade. If you would like these encouragements to stop, just run a simple utility called Never 10.

Never 10 can be found at the Gibson Research Corporation’s website. Or do a google search. Or goto http://www.grc.com/never10.htm Once there, simply download and run, clicking “Disable Win10 Upgrade” when presented. Or follow the directions on the page.

At the basic level, this utility tells Windows to ignore Windows 10. Should you ever change your mind, run it again and re-enable the upgrade.

I half expect Microsoft to bypass this at some point, but until then it’s the simplest and most effective way to stay on older versions of Windows.

As of July 7th, 2016 Never 10 works.
